In-House DC Motors: Driving Hardware Safety
All DUCATI motors stand out for two fundamental manufacturing pillars that ensure maximum reliability and electrical safety:
- Low Voltage Direct Current Power Supply (12V or 24V DC): The use of low-voltage direct current ELIMINATES THE RISK OF ELECTROCUTION at its root, a common hazard in traditional older systems operating at 230V alternating current. Furthermore, DC motors ensure an immediate starting torque, smooth slowdown management, and flawless operation in any weather condition. LDV test report & ceritificates made by indempendent notify body INTERTEK & NEMKo are avalable upon request.
- 100% Made in DUCATI Motors: The electric motors are entirely designed and manufactured inside the DUCATI factory. This total control over the supply chain guarantees the highest quality standards, perfect synergy with the control electronics, and superior product longevity.

Anti-Crushing Safety (EN12453)
N 12453 is the European technical safety standard that dictates the safety requirements and test methods for power-operated (motorised) doors, gates, and barriers.
The core principle of strict European safety regulations is to prevent a moving gate or door from striking a person with force, causing injury or damage. The law does not simply require the system to stop; it sets precise limits on the maximum force the automation can exert and the millisecond timeframes within which this force must drop to zero. This safety standard must be guaranteed regardless of the presence of external accessories (such as photocells or safety edges)
Amperometric Detection: Standard Across the Entire DUCATI's opener Range
Compliance with regulations is a fundamental prerequisite for our brand. For this reason, all DUCATI motors feature a standard, built-in amperometric detection system compliant with European standards. This system constantly monitors the motor's effort and, in the event of an impact with an obstacle, immediately blocks or reverses the door's movement to prevent damage or injury.

Enhancing Comfort with complementary Safety Accessories
Even if not mandatory, you can increase the safety of your system by adding complementary safety accessories.
SAFETY PHOTOELECTRIC PHOTOCELLS
Photocells are a useful accessory that prevents contact with an obstacle during the closing manoeuver of a gate or door.
If an obstacle interrupts the infrared beam transmitted from the transmitter photocell to the receiver photocell, the system detects it and reverses the movement, opening the gate.
